Because of their neuroprotectant and anti-inflamatory properties, cannabinoids have been recognized as a powerful substitute to manage neuropathis and inflammatory pain.

Neuropathic pain is largely created and sustained due to the glutamenergic system, which is a major excitatory neuronal pathway.
